چکیده

Coagulase negative staphylococci have been recognized as one of the important cause hospital acquired infections in recent past. It has become difficult to manage these due emergence multidrug resistance them. The aim this study was determine antibiotic sensitivity trend all Staphylococci isolates using modified Kirby- Bauer disk diffusion technique. To assess for coagulase staphylococci, Kirby-Bauer disc method on Muller-Hinton agar used. findings were interpreted basis CLSI standards. All given a predetermined panel antibiotics. Methicillin-resistant identified Cefoxitin disk. Linezolid, Vancomycin and Rifampicin found 500 our study. However, they resistant Penicillin G (65%), (56%), Ciprofloxacin (57%), Levofloxacin (32%), Gentamicin (21%), Erythromycin (67%), Clindamycin (60%), Cotrimoxazole (51%) Tetracycline (9%). As CoNS emerged an agent infections, hence there is need identification, speciation pattern better management patients.

Antibiotic susceptibility pattern and biofilm formation in coagulase negative staphylococci.

Introduction Coagulase negative staphylococci (CoNS) are commensals of non-sterile sites in humans and become pathogenic mostly when the host is immunocompromised by prior diseases or invasive surgical or related procedures [1]. Slime or biofilm production by CoNS has been identified as an important factor in the pathogenesis of infections as bacteria organized in biofilms are protected from th...
